LAS VEGAS, NV-- Rani Yahya took a quick submision win yesterday at the Hard Rock at WEC 42 versus John Hosman. Below is the Sherdog.com play-by-play:
Round 1
The fighters stalk each other slowly. Yahya connects with a teep kick and Hosman backs away. Yahya shoots and Hosman stuffs it easily. Hosman works for a guillotine, but he can’t secure it. Yahya scores a takedown and quickly passes to side control. Yahya sneaks around and swiftly locks on a north-south choke. It’s deep, but Hosman is defending. Yahya keeps squeezing and Hosman is forced to submit at 2:08 of round one.

LAS VEGAS, NV-- Rani Yahya made weight at 136lbs with the 1lb weight allowance Saturday, August 8 at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. The submission master, Yahya looks to affirm his presence in the WEC bantamweight title picture tomorrow with a win over John Hosman. |

LAS VEGAS, NV-- WEC Brazilian Jiu Jitsu ace Rani Yahya will take on (17-4-1) John Hosman. Japanese fighter Kenji Osawa (15-8-2) pulled out of his August 9th bought against Rani Yahya due to foot injury. John Hosman has frequented his career fighting for XFO with a majority of his wins by submission. |
